Essential Items to Bring
You Must Bring These Items
Photo ID for identification purposes
Your insurance card and identification (vision and medical insurance you can pull these on the insurance portal of many insurances.)
Current glasses or contact lenses so we can check the prescription
Recommended Items to Bring
These Items Help Dr. Ngoddy Provide Better Care
FSA or HSA card if you use these tax-advantaged accounts to pay for medical expenses
List of medications you currently take, including over-the-counter medications and supplements
List of medical conditions you have, especially diabetes, high blood pressure, thyroid disease, or autoimmune conditions
List of questions you want to ask Dr. Ngoddy during your visit
Sunglasses because your eyes may be dilated, making them sensitive to light
Previous eye exam records from other eye doctors if you have them
Note of any symptoms such as blurred vision, eye pain, floaters, or other concerns
Arriving Early for Your Appointment
Try to arrive 10 to 15 minutes early if this is your first visit to EyeServe. You will need to complete some paperwork. If you are a returning patient, arrive a few minutes early to check in.
During Your Eye Exam
Dr. Ngoddy will perform a comprehensive eye exam. The exam usually takes 45 minutes to an hour depending on what tests are needed. During your exam, you will:
Read letters on an eye chart to test vision
Look through a phoropter while Dr. Ngoddy determines your prescription
Have your eye pressure measured
Have health assessment done to check your retina and ocular contents
Discuss any vision problems or eye health concerns
After Your Eye Exam
After your exam, Dr. Ngoddy will review her findings with you. If you need glasses or contacts, she will provide a prescription you can use with any optical retailer. If any health concerns were found, she will discuss them with you and may refer you to an appropriate health care provider.

When do I need to come back for my next exam?
Is my vision changing or are my glasses still correct?
Do I need a new glasses prescription?
